Bon Air is a fine example of “country living in the city.” It’s one of the many diverse neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, and is just south of South Side. This it the online portal for the Bon Air Civic Association to share news and information with Bon Air residents as well as a place for residents to share their concerns and stories.

Just wanted to see if someone could get the lights turned on in the park at night. Too many things are going on there and the darkness is hiding it all. I have been finding broken beer bottles, cig butts, etc; on the groungd around the park where our kids play. Also just the other night I seen something about crips for life on the slide. With all the shootings just over the hill we really need to start getting together more for block watches etc;. Also can we get mailers out about all the events that go on around Bon Air. We can not get to some of the meetings because of our jobs so we have no idea as to what is going on.(?) Things like the block watch, pirate games, dinner nights, etc; always hear about these things but never get the chance to do any of them. One more rant, next spring can we chew who evers ear off we need to to get Bon Air ave repaved all the way to Institute street. Thanks for reading, Bill

Call your city council person-Natalia Rudiak and make a complaint with the Mayor’s complaint service. Dial 311. I would also contact your committee people for their input; Tony Mosesso and Missy Faust. Both of your issues are city oriented.

We’re attempting to renew the Block Watch program in September, 2011. Need Block Captains for each street/block. Contact Bo if you’re interested in participating in keeping Bon Air safe.
Reply to my e-mail or phone (412) 481-1447. Thanks.

This meeting is in response to the recent designation of Matthews Street in Bon Air as a one-way street. Constituents will be able to express concerns about new traffic patterns to Councilman Bruce Kraus, Public Works Director, Rob Kaczorowski, and District 4 Chief of Staff, John Fournier.

I’ve been in touch with the Mayors Office and the Dept. of Public Works regarding the 4th Division’s collection of tires and garbage at the location on Mathews Street. I’ve been assured that this matter is being handled – the City has vendors to remove all – dates have not been established yet. Let’s allow the City some time for the remedy to this problem. I will follow up in August, 2014.
